The ANC in the Eastern Cape is saddened about the passing away of Comrade Fezeka Loliwe on Monday, 05 March 2018.
Comrade Loliwe died tragically in a motor car accident at Alice after returning from her constituency at Fort Beaufort.
Her untimely and unexpected death comes as a shock to our Congress Movement. It’s sad loss to the Alliance especially SADTU where she started her political career.
Comrade Fezeka Loliwe’s political activism cut across the entire revolutionary tripartite alliance, having held leadership positions within all the structures of the alliance formations.
Cde Loliwe joined Parliament in 2014 and represented the constituency of Fort Beaufort. She was the Chairperson of the Labour Portfolio Committee and ANC Whip in the National Assembly.
Comrade Loliwe was also the Whip of our ANC Caucus Disciplinary Committee (CDC). She was truly a reservoir of political knowledge, whose immense contribution to debates both within the structures of the ANC, SACP and Cosatu will be sorely missed. Sisi Fezeka Loliwe was one of the best calibres that our revolutionary movement has ever produced.
She is a former SADTU Eastern Cape Provincial Secretary, SADTU 2nd Deputy President and SACP Central Committee member and was instrumental in the rebuilding of SACP structures.
She was humble and loyal disciplined member of the African National Congress. The ANC Eastern Cape send out its deepest and heartfelt condolences to her family, her friends, fellow comrades and the entire alliance.
We deep our revolutionary banner in honour of this great cadre of a special type.
