The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape has learnt with shock and sadness of the sudden passing away of such a distinguished South African and seasoned journalist, Mr Wandile Fana yesterday, Friday 11th June 2021 after a short illness.
Mr Fana, who was commonly known as Wara, was a Founder and Editor of the Skawara newspaper for the past 10 years based in Cofimvaba. At the time of his passing he was the Chairman for the Association of Independent Publishers (AIP) Board. He also served as a Managing Editor of online publication Takasele (Leapfrog).
Wara indeed brought so much honour, admiration and respect to journalism. We are at loss for words at the untimely departure of such an amazing human being and a talented journalist.
We are truly saddened by the loss, and wish to extend our deepest condolences to the entire Fana family,friends and colleagues in the media fraternity.
Our thoughts are with them in this difficult time.
