The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape lowers its Black, Green & Gold Flag in honour of the gallant stalwart of our struggle for liberation and social emancipation, Dr Boy Clarence “Bizzah” Mini who reportedly lost the battle against COVID 19. The ANC expresses its heartfelt condolences to the Mini family in the passing of this great patriot.
Dr Boy Clarence “Bizzah” Mini trained with the June 16 Detachment, initially at Benguela Camp, and subsequently at Novo Catengue (Southern Angola) during the period 1976/77. He was an intellectually astute cadre in Company One, and part of the avant grade that included William Sethunya, Mampe, Bongani Mathwa, Rocks Mashinini, Master Gwamanda, Moss Thema and many others. His compassionate and intellectual nature took him to medical school in Bulgaria to be equipped and look after the health of revolutionaries. At the time of his passing, he was the Chairman of Zeal Health owned by Dr Malik Vazi, an MK veteran. He was also Chairman of Medical Schemes Council.
We mourn the life of him who lived it full. Throughout his life, Clarence Mini led for peace and trained those that passed through him to despise apartheid and fortify democracy. To defeat the racist order of apartheid and replace it with an order that will work. There are very few who have displayed the capabilities that he did, whilst at the same time remaining humble and noble to our cause of freedom and this democracy which we now enjoy and need to consolidate.
We will always remember him as the distinguished South African who loved this country and his organisation the ANC more than anything else. We thank the Mini family for allowing him the space to serve his country and his people.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful life so well lived with all of us.
Dr Mini leaves behind his beloved children Yandi and Nomhle, but above all his soul mate and best friend Mrs Nancy Mini.
Comrade Mini, lala ngoxolo Mkhonto.
May your revolutionary spirit continue to guide us!!!
