ANC EC wishes EC people a merry Christmas

Issued by the office of the ANC EC Provincial Secretary

To all people of the Eastern Cape, this is the time where families come together to celebrate Christmas. Many will be travelling long distances going home, others will be engaging in all types of family events, work, weddings and celebrations, others will be going to church in various destinations of the country. We trust in God that all of you be safe.

We are aware that this is the time where people will be spending money buying clothes, presents and food. We encourage people not to spend irresponsible. You must save for January. Kids must be able to go to school in 2016.

As the ANC we are troubled by the number of lives families are losing during this time, where people are supposed to spend time together. The death of initiates is a serious challenge facing us all. The lives lost in our roads during this time can never make us rest. We are in pain together with all the families who could not spend this Christmas with their loved ones as a result of death.

As you enjoy the Christmas time, irresponsible drinking, drinking and driving will not be tolerated. This is everyones responsibility, let us all deal with drivers who get behind the wheels drunk. We have police placed all over in our roads to arrest such people.

We wish you all a safe and merry Christmas.

This statement must be attributed to Cde Oscar Mabuyane, the ANC EC PROVINCIAL SECRETARY.
