The African National Congress wishes the Hindu community well as they celebrate one of their biggest and most important festivals; the festival of Diwali/Deepvali.
It is indeed our duty, honour and pleasure to convey our sacred, spiritual and religious greetings to all Hindu families in South Africa on the auspicious days of Diwali.
Festivities usually include gatherings with family members, sharing tasty food, watching spectacular fireworks and visiting temples. However due to the outbreak of Covid-19 global pandemic this year’s celebrations will be different from the past.
We request your assistance and support to always place your duty and responsibility to protecting and safeguarding yourselves by the strict adherence to the Coronavirus Regulations and Measures.
The ANC would also like to take this opportunity to convey its deepest condolences, empathy and sadness to all families that have lost their loved ones due to the pandemic.
We thank you greatly and wish you will enjoy the great days of Diwali with happiness, peace and prosperity in abundance.
