Issued by the Office of the ANC EC Provincial Secretary
The OR Tambo Regional Conference went very smooth. We congratulate the successful conference and the new leadership of the region. We welcome democratic processes demonstrated in electing the leadership. The fact that credentials were adopted with in 1hr after were presented confirms an improved and matured way of an organising a conference.
We are pleased with the high levels of discipline by delegates, the levels of engagements on organisational matters also confirms a growing and maturing mentality in branches when they select delegates to the conference. You could confirm that the call to kill factions is key in OR Tambo, branch delegates pronounced that they are sent by branches to be intolerant on factionalism. We welcome that as the PEC.
We applaud the good work done by the previous REC in organising a successful conference under all the difficulties. Indeed this is the second biggest region in the entire country, to organise its conference was not going to be a simple task considering having to satify all organisational requirements to meet constitutional dictates of convening a conference of this nature. The role of the National office on matters needed their attention.
As the PEC we can confirm that we are building a strong united organisation in the province. We are moving with one voice in making sure that the PGC & NGC decisions are implimented as we go to local government elections next year.
The region can now be ready to kick start its elections program. The new leadership has a task to work with all branches and heed to the call by its conference to unite OR Tambo.
Next is BCM, Joe Gqabi and Nelson Mandela and we are expecting smooth running as well. As the PEC under the leadership of the Chairperson Pumulo Musaulle, we are happy to register this progress in uniting the province with no chaotic conferences.
The statement must be attrubuted to the Provincial Secretary Cde Oscar Mabuyane
