Today marks the 25th Anniversary since the passing of Comrade President Oliver Reginald Tambo. The African National Congress joins the world in commemorating the longest serving President of the African National Congress and leader of the progressive movement. 2017 was celebrated under the theme “100 Years of Oliver Tambo” and was dedicated to celebrating the contribution and indelible mark made by Cde OR Tambo. Cde OR kept the African National Congress in tact through the most trying times and he delivered a strong and united ANC back to the country. He was instrumental in mobilizing the international community against the apartheid regime and ultimately paving the way towards free and democratic dispensation.
Let us be inspired by the life of President OR Tambo as we celebrate his legacy let us reflect on the current challenges we face as a movement and as a country. OR Tambo was indeed a true servant of the people and the embodiment of the pursuit of the National Democratic Revolution.
