The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape wishes the ANC Veterans League in the province a successful 2nd Provincial Conference which starts today Friday, 9th June 2023 at the International Convention in East London.
The ANCVL consists of comrades who have given almost their entire lives (minimum 40 years) to the liberation movement and to the struggle for a better life for all. They are the repository of the ANC’s values and ethos. The revival of the ANCVL is crucial for the renewal programme of the ANC as the veterans have the role of providing guidance on complex matters of the organisation. It is also symbolic that, as loadstar, they should be the first of the three leagues to convene their conference, as all are led by Provincial Task Teams.
The ANC Provincial Chairperson, Cde Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane will lead the ANC delegation and he will also adrress the conference. The natioal leadership of the ANCVL will be led by National Task Team Convener , Cde Snuki Zikalala.
The conference starts at 9 a.m at the International Convention Centre and will be attended by about 200 delegates from across all eight regions (known as branches) of the ANCVL.
