ANC EC MOURNS THE PASSING AWAY OF LIEUTENANT GENERAL NDLOVU

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape mourns the untimely passing away of Lieutenant General Xolani Brian Ndlovu , the incumbent Chief of Logistics Division in the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and former Umkhonto Wesizwe combatant .

Lieutenant General Ndlovu grew up at New Brighton in Gqeberha and he is the son of renowned karateka , Mr Mncedisi Masangwana .He started his primary schooling at David Vuku Lower Primary School and proceeded to Masangwana Higher Primary School and later at Ithembelihle High School .

Lieutenant Ndlovu ranks amongst the senior and highly experienced cadres of the ANC, both militarily and politically. In 1985 he went into exile, received military training in Angola. His combat name was Ramabatho Moloi. He was part of a generation that chose to fight, rather than submit, as called upon by the founding MK manifesto.He served as Platoon Commander in 1986 and worked with struggle stalwart , Mama Getrude Shope.Lieutenant General Ndlovu was recruited to Operation Vula in 1990.He completed a Platoon Commanders course at Militez Military Base in Zambia in 1994 and later integrated into the South African National Defense Force .

After serving in various posts at 5 SAI Bn from 1995 to 2001 , he was appointed as SO2 Plan at Army Support Base in Bloemfontein , a position he served until 2007.He was elevated into higher echelons of the South African National Defense Force (SANDF) in 2021 when he was promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed Deputy Chief Logistics until December 2022. He was promoted to the substantive rank of Lieutenant General on the 01 January 2023 and was appointed as the Chief of the SANDF Logistics Division . He occupied the post until his untimely passing.

He will be missed for his selfless and persistent commitment to the people of South Africa. His legacy will remain in the cadreship he developed over time. His ideas will continue to serve as a beacon to our movement.
