The African National Congress (ANC) Eastern Cape Provincial Executive Committee wishes all the citizens of the province a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
To all the citizens of the Eastern Cape, this is the time where families come together to celebrate Christmas. Many will be travelling long distances going home, others will be engaging in all types of family events, weddings and celebrations, others will be going to church in various destinations of the province .
We appeal to all that we don’t drink and drive, that we don’t drink and walk on the roads, that we obey traffic rules, particularly speed limits, and that drivers must rest occasionally during the journey.
We extend our congratulations to all our social, cultural and sporting heroes who made our province and the nation proud through their excellence.
Finally, let us enjoy this festive season without causing harm to ourselves or others.
Let us use this time to reach out to needy members of our families and communities.
Let us respect women, children and the elderly.
Let us travel across our beautiful province safely and responsibly.
Let us work together to reduce road fatalities.
It’s our hope that this festive season shall be enjoyable and fulfilling.
