The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape confirms reports that ANC Ngqushwa Sub-Regional Secretary, Comrade Mhloli Mqoqi, was injured in a shooting incident at his Power Location house in Ngqushwa last Thursday evening of the 31st October 2024 .
According to the information received by the ANC, Comrade Mhloli Mqoqi was shot when two assailants budged in at his house and shot him in front of his family. Comrade Mqoqi is currently receiving medical attention in hospital.
The ANC will continue to support the family and has engaged law enforcement agencies to ensure that this matter is investigated and the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended. Criminality of any form and against any individual should never be tolerated and those involved must be brought to book.
Comrade Mqoqi and his family are in our thoughts and prayers during this time and we wish him speedy recovery.
