The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape wishes to thank voters who participated in Mbhashe wards where By-Elections took place yesterday, 13th September 2023
Once again, this electoral victory, in which the ANC retained two out of the two wards contested, is an indication of the continued confidence and support the ANC enjoys from its constituencies.
For the benefit of context we share below the ANC’s percentage share of ANC Ward Councillor victories per ward:
Idutywa Central Ward 1- 70%
Sheshegu Emamfeneni Wade 2- 69.4 %
We do not take for granted the confidence the people have once again demonstrated in their movement and commit ourselves to redouble our efforts to work with them to solve the problems they face.
We, once again, congratulate the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for delivering the credible, free and fair elections. We also thank our committed volunteers, members and supporters of the ANC who worked tirelessly in the build-up to these by-elections and ensured this decisive outcome.
