The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape welcomes the judgement delivered today in the High Court of South Africa (Eastern Cape Division) East London Circuit Court in the case ANC Eastern Cape PTT and others vs Sokomani and others
The court has once again vindicated the ANC Eastern Cape about the correctness of the PEC in endorsing the 4th Regional Conference outcomes and the ANC constitution and we appeal to ANC members to abide by the resolution of the 54th National Conference, which was clear in terms of members of the ANC taking it to court.
We maintain that the courts should never be used to fight against any structure of the ANC, but rather we should exhaust all ANC internal processes including the National Dispute Resolution Committee.
This is a victory for unity and cohesion in the African National Congress.
The ANC’s renewal process will be agile in instilling organizational discipline and culture of internal processes amongst its members.
We call on all members and supporters of the ANC in the province to ensure that we work towards unifying the ANC in the Eastern Cape .
