It is the mid term of the current ANC Provincial leadership in the Eastern Cape since the last Provincial Conference. The ANC in its program as prescribed in the ANC Constitution convene all ANC branches in the province during the middle of the term to give account on how the organisation has perfomed. Leading Government in the province, it is expected also to give an account on the state of governance in the province.
Over a period of 3 days the ANC will hold the Provincial General Council. This is also in preparation of the National General Council taking place in Gauteng the following weekend. The NEC having released discussion documents, the ANC in the Eastern Cape is expected in its PGC to consolidate its position about organisational matters proposed in discussion documents.
The PGC details are as follows;
Location: OR Tambo Region, Mtata
Venue: WSU Great Hall (NMD Campus)
Date: 1st to 4th October
Program
Day 1 (1st): Registration and OR Tambo Memorial Lecture at 4pm.
Day 2 (2nd): Opening of the PGC, Messages of support from the Alliance, Reports and discussions in commissions
Day 3 (3rd): Presentation on NGC Discussion documents and Commissions
Day 4 (4th): Reports and adoption of reports from commissions, PGC Declarations & Closing
The leadership will then address the media on the deliberations of the PGC.
The open session to the media is the opening and closing of the PGC. The media is invited to attend the PGC.
The media is also invited to a media briefing session that will be held on the 1st October at 3pm in WSU NMD CAMPUS. You are requested to arrive in time. Venue of the media briefing will be communicated tomorrow.
Registration of the media will be done in the press briefing of the 1st October. No registration will be done after this time. All media companies are requested to confirm in writing their delegates not later than 10am tomorrow the 1st.
