ANC calls on South Africans to help victims of storms

The African National Congress calls on all South Africans to stand together and lend a helping hand to the people of KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and all other parts of the country affected by the destructive inclement weather of the past few days.

Recent reports have indicated massive devastation that has taken the life of six of our compatriots and left many others destitute and displaced. The ANC extended its deepest sympathies to the families of those who have lost loved ones and calls upon our emergency services to redouble their efforts to locate and rescue the missing and displaced.

The ANC further urges motorists to continue exercise caution and patience on the roads in affected parts of the country. It remains incumbent on society as a whole to work with disaster management services to mitigate any further negative consequences of these natural disasters.
