The African National Congress (ANC) conveys its message of support and well wishes to the Tamil and Telugu communities as they begin their month-long fast which begins today, the 17th of September and ends on the 18th of October 2020.
This month is known as Purtassi Month which is characterised by prayers for the betterment of mankind and our country. The period is devoted to praying for peace, security and prosperity for humanity.They also pray for good health and ask the Lord to rid our country and ourselves of any diseases and dangers.
The ANC wishes to express its appreciation to the Tamil and Tegula communities for their contribution in moral regeneration, social cohesion, poverty eradication and the reconstruction and development of our country.
