The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape is proud to have retained Ward 21 at Ngqeleni in Nyandeni Local Municipality with an overwhelming majority in yesterday’s (Wednesday 27 March 2019) by elections.
This victory is evidence that the masses continue to have confidence in the ANC and its leadership. By retaining the ANC as the leader of their communities, the masses commend the ANC for the good work it has done since 1994 to better their lives.
We thank our communities for the show of confidence in the ANC and it’s leadership.
The ANC thanks all those who went to cast their vote, irrespective of the party they voted for. The regular elections held in our country are an affirmation that our democracy is alive and well as well as a practical expression of our commitment to the Freedom Charter demand that the people shall govern; no government can justly claim authority unless it is based on the will of the people.
Our communities have once again reaffirmed their confidence in the ANC and renewed our mandate to continue with the commendable work of transforming their lives for the better.
