FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The African National Congress ( ANC) in the Eastern Cape strongly condemns the killing of six ( 6) Community Policing Forum (CPF) patrollers at Ward 13 , Godidi Village at Qumbu in King Mhlontlo Local Municipality last night .
Their untimely and senseless passing robs the Qumbu community of committed patriots who were dedicated in the fight against crime.
We call for the activation of a 72-hour activation plan to help bring these heartless criminals to book. We further call for the reinforcement of Tactical Response Team and National Intervention Unit in Qumbu to hunt down these criminals who are the enemy of our democratic state and our communities.
Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the deceased during this very difficult time and speedy recovery to the injured patriots. We make a call on SAPS to leave no stone unturned in their investigation to ensure that those who are guilty are brought to book.
