The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape congratulates the appoinment of Cde Pemmy Majodina as the Chief Whip of the Majority Party in Parliament .
Cde Pemmy Majodina needs no introduction to the people of this country having tirelessly, selflessly and meticulously served the people of the Eastern Cape since the inception of the democratic dispensation in 1994. Cde Majodina is an all- round, tried and tested leader of the ANC. She carries immense knowledge and experience in the legislative sector of governance, having fulfilled various roles including that of being the MEC of Health , DSRAC, Social Development and Public Works of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature.
We are convinced that the activism of Comrade Majodina as a seasoned activist of the Mass Democratic Movement will bring invaluable organisational experience in the ANC Caucus in the National Assembly.She served as ANC Youth League Treasurer General and ANC Deputy Secretary in the Eastern Cape.
The ANC in the Province is therefore confident that Cde Pemmy Majodina’s leadership will lead the ANC National Parliamentary Caucus and serve our people with distinction. We have no doubt that, in her new role, the Chief Whip will do well in advancing the ANC’s policy objectives.
We are confident that she will continue where her predecessors left by deepening the activist character of Parliament and
its programmes.
