The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape learnt with profound shock of the untimely passing of His Majesty King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau of the Kingdom of AmaMpondo.
King Zanozuko Sigcau was a great leader and one of the world’s reigning monarchs who unequivocally embraced democracy. His contribution to the development of the institution of traditional leadership is beyond measure. He will be remembered for being the epitome of unity within the AmaMpondo Royal House.
King Zanozuko served the people of the Kingdom of AmaMpondo with great distinction during his reign and was highly respected in our Province and South Africa.
We extend our deepest condolences to Her Majesty Queen Zuziwe Victoria (Nobandla), sisters Princess Nontsasa, Princess Ziyanda, children, the Royal family of AmaMpondo and the citizens of the Province.
We indeed share their grief and wish them the necessary strength during this difficult time of mourning.
