ANC EC to hold PEC Lekgotla

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape will hold its mid-year Lekgotla this weekend from Sunday 19th August to Monday 20th August 2018. The Lekgotla will be preceded by an Induction Workshop of the PEC on Saturday 18th August 2018.

The Lekgotla will assess government progress in delivering against ANC priorities which include job creation, elimination of poverty and reducing inequality. It will further give guidance on focus areas to ANC deployees in government ahead of the planning processes for the new financial year.

The Lekgotla will be attended by ANC PEC members, ANC leagues, alliance partners, components of the mass democratic movement, Executive Mayor’s and members of the Executive at National and Provincial level.

The Lekgotla will be followed by Land Summit from Monday 20th- Tuesday 21st August 2018 on the implementation of the 54th National Conference Resolution on land expropriation without compensation.

The purpose of the summit is to consolidate a unified provincial ANC perspective on expropriation of land reform in the wider context of persisting land inequities, unsatisfactory land & agrarian reform and urban land development & distribution achievements since 1994.
