In a clear sign that the African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape is gaining dominant presence in every corner of the province, the ANC today welcomed three new members from the EFF in Mthatha.
The members are , EFF Provincial Organizer, Phumzile Ketwa , Mziwamadoda Sitshalwa who is the EFF Regional Secretary, EFF PR Councillor and Whip at King Sabatha Dalindyebo Municipality and Unathi Ketwa who is EFF’s Regional Chairperson, PR councillor and Whip at OR Tambo District Municipality .These prominent leaders defected because they believe that the ANC is the only political party that plays a leading role in the transformation of South African society, and that the policies of the ANC have contributed to and continue to contribute to significant change in our country.
ANC Provincial Secretary,Cde Lulama Ngcukayitobi described the welcoming of these three new members as a huge achievement for the ANC. He told the new members that the ANC was a democratic organisation that valued the views of each and every member and stressed the importance of unity, democracy, non-racial and non-sexism principles which is sacrosanct in our organisation.
They believe that the EFF does not welcome views differing from those of the leadership in particular the CIC. We have no doubt that these individuals will make a valuable contribution given the immense organizational knowledge and the skills they have to the ANC and we welcome their return to people’s parliament .The recent reception bares testimony that the ANC lives and still leads.
We commit to place their energies in the best abilities to contribute to our glorious movement as we seek to unite and renew both the organization and the country.
