The ANC in the Eastern Cape wishes the best to all the 131000 matriculants who are starting their examinations today in the province. We are hopeful that their hard work and dedication during this year will pay a substantial dividend which will unlock the doors of prosperity, progress and a better life.
A few weeks ago, the ANC was appraised by its deployee in the Education Department, MEC Fundile Gade, that preparation for matric exams were in place and we were assured that logistically they will proceed without incidences.
We are confident that despite the currently prevailing COVID-19 global pandemic, the learners have been well prepared through the engaging delivery of the curriculum by teachers, which had to be blended this year due to the virus.
To the Matriculants:
We know that this year has been a traumatic and difficult period, more particularly for education. Even after some schools were re-opened during the implementation of the Country’s Risk Adjusted Strategy some schools saw disruptions due to COVID-19 cases. Teachers implemented catchup plans and implement other creative ways of ensuring that you are ready for the exams. Now this is the moment of truth, we are confident that you are prepared enough to take-on this final examination and pass with flying colours.
The ANC in the Eastern Cape wishes to encourage each and every one of you to do your level best. Stay positive at all times. Your families are pinning their hopes on you, so it is prudent that you succeed for not only yourself but the entirety of our province and our country.
Remember and be inspired by the words of the Icon of our struggle, Nelson Mandela, where he said:”Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.”
