The African National Congress (ANC) expresses its gratitude to millions of South Africans who came out to cast their votes today. The ANC is pleased that regardless of the inclement weather conditions in some parts of the country,our people braved the elements and came out to exercise their democratic right to vote.
We also convey our deepest gratitude to all ANC volunteers and party agents who worked tirelessly during the campaign.
The ANC congratulates the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in conducting the elections in a manner that upholds the integrity of the elections.
Despite the challenges encountered, we are convinced that any outstanding matters will be resolved by the Party Liaison Committees and the IEC.
We look forward to the announcements of results by the IEC
The ANC is saddened by the untimely death of two voters who passed before they had the opportunity to cast their votes. We send our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones.
