Following the recent announcement of Amathole and Nelson
Mandela Regional Elective Conferences taking place as from 10 – 12 March 2017, ANC EC Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) is happy to announce that it’s all systems go.
In both Regional Elective Conferences delegates are commissioned to consider policy documents. At Amathole, this is the second Regional Conference to be attended by 350 delegates including the leagues and allies.
The status quo at Nelson Mandela is that over a period of time there has been a Regional Task Team (RTT) which by the end of conference there will pronounce a new leadership collective. The main task of the newly elected leadership is to unite ANC and prepare for 2019 General Elections.
All appeals have been attended by both the Province and National leadership and the PEC have noted that the conferences are meeting their constitutional requirements.
The Amathole Regional Elective Conference will commence later today at Mpekweni Beach Resort just outside Peddie and the registration is taking place at Ngqushwa Council Chambers at 16h00.
Nelson Mandela Elective Conference at Emthonjei Training Centre (ETC) is currently underway attended by both members of the PEC and the NEC.
Both conferences are taking place under the following theme: “Lets deepen unity, Unity in Action”, whilst celebrating the life and times of the longest serving ANC President Cde Oliver Reginald Tambo affectionately known as O.R Tambo.
It is against this background that ANC in the Eastern Cape kindly invite members of the media to be part of the conferences during open sessions.
This statement must be attributed to the ANC EC spokesperson Cde Mlibo Qoboshiyane
