ANC STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF SHONA FERGUSON

The African National Congress is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of renowned actor and filmmaker Mr Shona Ferguson. He passed away this afternoon, Friday 30 July 2021,due to COVID-19 related complications.

Ferguson featured in a number of popular local television productions including Rockville, Generations, The Queen, The Wild and Kings Of Jozi. He captured a large audience across age groups, both locally and further afield.

The performing arts industry has been robbed of a talent which continues to inspire the country and the showbiz sector as a whole. Indeed, the industry all the poorer without Mr Ferguson.

The African National Congress extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of this talented son of the soil. May they find solace in knowing that their loss is shared by the entire nation.

May Mr Shona Ferguson’s soul rest in eternal peace.
