The African National Congress has learned with concern that the founding President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Dr Kenneth Kaunda, is unwell and hospitalised.
President Kaunda played an invaluable role in the struggle for liberation in South Africa, the erstwhile frontline States and the continent at large. He has a special place in our hearts and minds as South Africans and as the African National Congress.
We urge our people to keep Dr Kaunda in their thoughts and prayers during this time, and wish him a speedy recovery.
