The Bhisho Legislature’s Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism Committee has recommended that the Gambling and Betting Board Amendment Bill should be approved.
A report from the committee states that the aim of the amendment bill is to align the legislation with national legislation and policy and “to close regulatory gaps in the current gambling legislation of the Eastern Cape.
The amendment bill also provides for “certain technological developments” that have taken place since the original act came into effect.
