The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape received reports from the National Dispute Resolution Committee on the appeal by Nelson Mandela Regional Executive Committee and appeal on the Dr WB Rubusana Regional Conference outcomes.

NELSON MANDELA REGION

The ANC Eastern Cape PSO received a report on the outcomes of a hearing on the disbandment of Nelson Mandela Regional Executive Committee on the 15th November 2018 .

The NDRC affirms the decision of the PEC to disband the Nelson Mandela REC .
The Regional Task Team to be announced soon, must include the disbanded REC and members of the ANC who may have held a different view at the conference.

The NDRC affirms the decision of the NEC that Comrade Andile Lungisa resign as the MMC and remain an ordinary councillor until his appeal process, he may then be considered to fulfill a leading role .

DR WB RUBUSANA REGION

The PSO received a report from the National Dispute Resolution Committee on the DR WB RUBUSANA REGIONAL CONFERENCE on the 15th November 2018 .

The NDRC held hearings on the 10th -11th August 2018 to hear the appeals submitted in protest against the DR WB Rubusana 3rd Regional Conference .

The Dr WB Rubusana Regional Conference was convened under the guidance and supervision of the PEC and for this reason the conference was legitimate and REC is confirmed .A detailed report from the NDRC will be presented to ANC structures.

We are of the view that unity is built on basic principles of what the movement stands for and how it should operate in carrying out its mission. Unity cannot and should not be equated to lack of differences in a collective or structures of the organisation. Contradictions and differences will always be there in any vibrant organization.

The PEC strongly believe that those who got elected have to make a conscious effort to unite and lead everybody, including those who did not support them in the election processes. Similarly, those whose positions did not see the light of day cannot undermine the verdict of conference.

Those in positions in leadership should unite and guide the movement to be at the head of the process of change. They should lead the movement in its mission to organize and inspire the masses to be their own liberators.

The PEC has come to the conclusion that the task of building and consolidating the unity of the movement in all our Regions is an ongoing task that should remain a critical focus of all ANC cadres.

We therefore call on all ANC members in both Regions to promote unity and cohesion in structures and work together for the 2019 National Elections.
