The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape welcomes the Cabinet reshuffle announced by Premier Phumulo Masualle in the Province today.
We believe that the manner in which the reshuffle has been done will promote service delivery as the right people have been allocated the right jobs.
This reshuffle sees Comrade Mlungisi Mvoko being moved from Human Settlements to Education to replace the late Cde Mandla Makupula, and Comrade Babalo Madikizela appointed the MEC of Human Settlements. We wish to congratulate the two MECs on their appointment to these demanding positions.
We are convinced that the Premier took into consideration the resolutions of the Provincial Lekgotla which demanded an accelerated offensive to the triple challenges of unemployment, inequality and poverty in the province. We are confident that with the skills and capabilities that these cadres of our movement have , they will be able to accelerate radial socio-economic transformation in our province.
There could not have been a better choice of comrades to fill the vacancies in that Cabinet as all the cadres of the ANC are capable of advancing the transformation agenda of the movement. We therefore hope that those that occupy new positions will get in there with vigour and take the work of the government to greater heights
We call on all officials in the various departments to welcome their new MECs and provide them with the necessary support to succeed in their work.
