25 May 2025

The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in the Eastern Cape proudly congratulates our Secretary General, Comrade Mntuwoxolo Ngudle, on his historic election as the 2nd Vice President for Africa in the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), during its 21st General Assembly held in Windhoek, Namibia.

This significant election is a reflection of Comrade Ngudle’s tireless dedication to youth struggles, revolutionary internationalism, and the continued fight against imperialism and inequality. His election affirms the respect and confidence that youth movements across Africa and the world have in South African youth leadership.

Comrade Ngudle’s election is a victory for the youth of South Africa and the African continent. It is a recognition of his leadership and the critical role the ANCYL continues to play in shaping global youth discourse. We are immensely proud of his contribution and the revolutionary path he continues to walk. This achievement inspires us to intensify our efforts in rebuilding and strengthening the ANCYL across all regions. It is a clear signal that the world is watching and acknowledging the progressive voices of South African youth.

This achievement is also a powerful reminder that young people must be entrusted with greater responsibilities within the African National Congress. Time and again, young leaders have demonstrated their capability, vision, and commitment—locally and globally. Comrade Ngudle’s election is living proof that when young people are empowered, they rise to the occasion and lead with excellence.

This election takes place at a time when the current National Executive Committee of the ANCYL is working tirelessly to revive and rebuild structures across the country, restoring the Youth League to its rightful place at the forefront of youth activism and political education. It is further testament that the ANCYL remains a relevant and powerful force, grounded in the principles of the Freedom Charter, and continues to be at the centre of advancing youth struggles both at home and abroad.

Through campaigns for free education, economic justice, job creation, and the fight against gender-based violence, the ANCYL remains unwavering in its commitment to the emancipation of young people. Comrade Ngudle’s role in the WFDY will further deepen our international alliances and strengthen the role of African youth in global progressive movements.

We once again extend our congratulations to Comrade Mntuwoxolo Ngudle and reaffirm our full support as he takes on this vital role in the international youth movement.

Amandla!!!
