The ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Working Committee (PWC) met on Monday the 16th April 2018 with structures of the MK Community, MKMVA and MK Council of the Eastern Cape.
The intention of the meeting was the appreciation of the fact that structures of the ANC including MKMVA must unite in the context of the momentum created by the ANC’s 54th National Conference.
The meeting with common purpose in mind, deliberated on the challenges faced by the MKMVA and acknowledged the deep divisions that nearly rendered the structures dysfunctional. The structures, both the MKMVA and MK Council appreciated the fact that the African National Congress in its National Conference in Nasrec resolved to bring to a complete closure all the divisions within the MK ranks.
The constructive discussions resolved on the following :
– That an inclusive MKMVA Provincial Conference be convened before the end of May 2018.
– That an inclusive committee is constituted which will prepare for the Provincial Conference.
– A meeting of all members of Umkhonto weSizwe be convened to brief all ex-combatants about the developments.
– The ANC will monitor the developments and further give the necessary political support to the MK members.
The ANC in the Eastern Cape is very enthusiastic about these developments and will work with all the members, and appreciate the cooperative attitude of all the structures.
The ANC appreciates that the end of the infighting and disunity within the MK ranks will be a panacea to the challenges of the ANC in the Eastern Cape, and contribute immensely towards the renewal and unity of our glorious movement.
This statement must be attributed to the ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Secretary, Cde Lulama Ngcukayitobi.
