The ANC in the Eastern Cape welcomes the decision by PE Magistrate Court in granting bail application to Comrade Andile Lungisa today (25 May 2018) .
We are of the view that Comrade Andile Lungisa has every right to appeal the case and his legal team has indicated that they would petition the Grahamstown High Court.
We we would also like to reaffirm our support for Comrade Lungisa .
In this regard we call for a speedy appeal process and the conclusion of this matter as soon as practically possible, bearing in mind the public interest on the matter.
Cde Lungisa has got a right when a court finds him guilty to apply to the Higher Court and we wish him all the best.
