EC Cogta MEC Xolile Nqatha will tomorrow, Tuesday ,20 August 2019, convene a meeting with the Elundini Electricity Crisis Committee about their dissatisfaction on the programme of electrification of the villages in the ward.
The department received a letter from the Office of the Premier requesting intervention on the dissatisfaction of the community in Elundini Local Municipality, ward 14, about the electrification programme by ESKOM in the ward. In processing the request the Joe Gqabi District Centre at COGTA was then directed to follow up on the concerns that were raised by the community.
“It is against this background that as the MEC for Cogta I will convene a meeting with the intention of trying to come up with amicable solution to the matter. The meeting will be attended by the Elundini Electricity Crisis Committee, Elundini Local Municipality leadership, COGTA Senior Manager for the JGDC and the Eastern Cape ESKOM Operation Unit,” said MEC Nqatha.
