The ANC in the Eastern Cape sends its heartfelt condolences to the Stofile family following the passing away of Mrs Mirriam Stofile early this morning(Wednesday,23 May 2018),at the age of 97 years after she has not been well for sometime .
The loss of a parent is not an easy thing and we hope the Stofile family and their friends will be comforted by the knowledge that the ANC members, supporters and the entire community of this Province are thinking of them during this time of sadness.
We will forever be indebted to Mamu Stofile for shaping and raising up the former Eastern Cape Premier,Minister of Sport and Rugby administrator,Rev Makhenkesi and Bra Mike , who became fearless voices for the poor and an uncompromising advocates for the emancipation of the African majority .
She is the generation of people who made the ultimate sacrifice.Mamu Stofile was harrassed by the police ,she couldn’t lead a normal life and her children were involved in politics since their youth days
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family, imploring them to find comfort and solace in a full life well lived.Mama Stofile’s house is at Ngqele Location,Alice.
