ANC EC Provincial list committee releases preliminary list

The ANC structures have over the past two months engaged in a rigorous and intensive process to nominate its candidates as public representative for both Provincial and National Legislatures.

The List Nomination Branch General Meetings (BGM’S) started on the 25th September 2018 – 29th November 2018 .As per Rule 12 of List Guidelines , all nominations were conducted in properly constituted BGM’S of branches in good standing as provided for in the Constitution.

A total of 471 Branch General Meetings were convened participate in the nomination process , of which 461 branches were able to successfully sit and nominate candidates as per the ANC rules and guidelines for nomination of Public representatives. Branch voting delegates includes PEC Members, REC’s,Alliance components and the ANC Leagues.

The list committee wishes to take this opportunity and appreciate all ANC members who conducted themselves in a befitting and disciplined manner ensuring incident free nomination process.

The Preliminary List will be subjected to a list conference were all qualifying branches, the leagues and alliance will participate. This process is a further demonstration of the ANC culture of transparency and openness in dealing with its internal processes. It is a further affirmation of participatory democracy within and amongst our ranks.
