Comrade Ntombovuyo Javu passed on yesterday morning ,Tuesday 14 April 2020 after a short illness having fulfilled a life as a people’s servant coupled with her unwavering commitment and leadership to the liberation of our people. Comrade Javu epitomized the struggles of the poor, the women and the disenfranchised. Her political activism dates back in the late 80’s wherein she served in both Zwelitsha Youth Organization (ZWEYO) and the South African Young Congress (SAYCO).Comrade Javu graduated from these structures under the leadership of Shoes Mkebe, Paki Hobongwana, Nolizwe Mnyaka, Jerry Ndudula and many others. Comrade Ntombovuyo with her generation swelled the ranks of the ANC Youth League when progressive youth formations such as the ANC Youth Section, SAYCO and Young Christian Students were integrated into the fully fledged ANCYL structures.

Post the political breakthrough of 1994,Comrade Javu continued her political conviction and served in the structures our liberation movement, became the first crop of cadres to be given the administrative responsibilities of the ANC Parliamentary Constituency Offices. She has been a constant and committed ANC Volunteer in every election campaign and worked in the ANC Provincial War Room at Canon James Calata House.

We are proud of the contribution of Comrade Javu to the struggle for total political, social and economic emancipation of the black majority and Africans in particular. Comrade Ntombovuyo left an indelible mark and will be fondly remembered for her care and compassion for others and the dedication with which she
served her community and the liberation movement over more than three decades.
