The African National Congress(ANC) in the Eastern Cape welcomes with humility the outcome of the by-elections held in three (3) wards in the Province.
The by-elections were contested in 3 wards in the Province, Ward 22 – Umzimvubu Municipality, Ward 3- Ngqushwa Municipality and Ward 2 at Blue Crane Municipality on Wednesday, 6 November 2019. We retained both Ward 22 and Ward 3, and we are pleased that our glorious movement has made inroads at Ward 2 in Blue Crane which is historically a ward from the opposition which we lost by 147 votes.
The elections outcomes are as a result of hard work, selflessness and commitment which ANC, Alliance structures and volunteers tirelessly paced themselves throughout the length and breadth of the three wards. An unadorned truth conveyed by these results is that the ANC continues to be the only most trusted organisation in our province. The centrality of the ANC in the cause of our people is undeniable.
