The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape is humbled by the confidence voters across the province continue to place in the organisation as demonstrated by the results of Wednesday’s by-elections that took place in Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality and Intsika Yethu Local Municipality. The ANC emerged victorious in the three (3) contested wards.
The ANC has once again proved to be the people’s choice by retaining Intsika Yethu Local Municipality’s Ward 15 in Cofimvaba , Ward 12 and Ward 20 at Mdantsane in Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality through a colossal victory during the by-election this past Wednesday. This victory is a clear sign of the confidence that our people have on the leadership of the ANC.
We will build on this solid foundation as we prepare for the 2026 local government elections.
The ANC wishes to thank all its structures, our army of volunteers, members and supporters for their hard work and energy that ensured this decisive victory.
The ANC calls on all newly-elected councillors of the ANC to always be in the front trenches of service delivery and to serve communities with humility and selfless dedication.
