ANC EC STATEMENT ON GAUTENG HIGH COURT JUDGEMENT

The African National Congress (ANC)in the Eastern Cape welcomes the High Court of South Africa (Gauteng Division) judgement on the application brought by Xolisani Malindi, Jackson Sabona and Nompumelelo Gcinindawo seeking to nullify their suspensions by the ANC Provincial Disciplinary Committee.

We applaud the court’s decision to dismiss this frivolous attempt which was seeking to ursup the disciplinary processes and internal remedies of the ANC. We are equally pleased that the court has ordered the applicants to pay the legal costs of the case.

We implore members of the ANC that are in any deployment to follow the party line and maintain the high levels of organizational discipline to avoid being at fault with the disciplinary processes.

We maintain that the courts should never be used to fight against any structure of the ANC, but rather members should exhaust all ANC processes -whilst maintaining the highest levels of discipline.

The ANC’s renewal process will be agile in instilling organizational discipline and culture of internal processes amongst its members.
