ANC SADDENED BY THE PASSING OF QUEEN NOLOYISO SANDILE

The African National Congress (ANC) adds it’s voice to the overwhelming sadness expressed over the untimely passing of Her Majesty Queen Noloyiso Sandile, Regent of the Royal House of the amaRharhabe.

Queen Noloyiso, widow of the late King Maxhoba Sandile, passed away on the 8th of July 2020 following a short illness. Following the King’s passing in 2011, Queen Noloyiso ascended to the throne until her son, Prince Jonguxolo Sandile, came of age.
We applaud the progressive role Queen Noloyiso played in the development of her community and for upholding the culture and traditions of amaRharhabe. She understood how the institutions of traditional leadership should co-exist with systems of constitutional democracy.
We hope other traditional leaders will emulate her progressive example.

The ANC joins the President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa in paying tribute to Queen Noloyiso for her deep and unwavering commitment to the upliftment of her people and to her country.

We convey our heartfelt condolences to the Great Place of Mngqesha and amaRhabe.

May her soul Rest In Peace

END
