The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) has issued a call for expressions of interest for the design, development and operation of a Student Lifestyle Centre at its Second Avenue, Summerstrand Campus.
The Human Settlements Committee approved the project last week that involves several elements, including a multi-purpose academic node of that includies computer labs; places of instruction and assembly; student recreation and resource facility; student counselling, offices and administration.
The development also includes a Student Lifestyle Centre with food and domestic retail; pharmaceutical and medical; electronic and IT retail; student and staff laundry; gymnasium and health bar as well as a travel agency and banking and financial facilities.
NMMU plans to provide residential accommodation for visiting lecturers and post graduate and doctoral students.
