This morning I received a call from a member of Mahlathi family informing me that our dear sister and committed compatriot, Dr Vuyo Mahlathi has died. I was numbed, shocked and rattled by the news of Dr Vuyo Mahlathi’s passing.
On behalf of the Eastern Cape provincial government, the people of our province, I send our sincere sympathies and profound condolences to the Mahlathi family, friends, business associates and colleagues of Dr Vuyo Mahlathi.
Dr Mahlathi’s work ethic, enterprising nature, commitment to the progress, development, growth of our province and of our country inspired me to appoint her to the Premier’s advisory team.
As an enterprising South African, Dr Mahlathi was helping us in developing our province by diligently sharing her wisdom, ideas contributing to the work of building the Eastern Cape province we want.
As people who worked with Dr Mahlathi, who know her, we are saddened and pained by her passing. We appreciate her contribution and commitment to the programmes of improving the lives of the people of our country and we send our gratitude to her family.
As we all mourn her passing, we wish her family strength and fortitude during this difficult time of grief.
