The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape has learnt with shock and outrage of the tragic passing of mother to Dr Bulelani Matha. 68 year old Mama Nombuso Matha was shot in cold blood and killed in the early hours of this morning at her house at Ntlakwe Location in Mbizana.
We wish to condemn in the strongest possible terms this heinous act which highlights the need for intensified effort to fight crime street to street, village to village and location to location. Criminals have descended to even greater depths of cruelty and callousness.
We call on law enforcement agencies to do everything in their power to root out the evils of crime and violence faced by the citizens of this country. .
The ANC sends its heartfelt condolences to the Matha family, relatives and friends. We wish them strength during this difficult time of loss as they battle to come to terms with this tragic loss. We share their grave sense of loss.
May departed precious soul of Mama Matha rest in eternal peace.
