On behalf of the African National Congress in the Eastern Cape, I wish to convey deepest condolences to Cde Fieldmore Mapetho’s wife, children and family for the loss of a loving husband and a father.
Though it may not be possible for us to fully feel your pain as a family, our hearts go out to you and we wish you enough strength of spirit to see you through this loss.
Comrade Fieldmore was one of the best and brightest brains to be ever produced by the ANC.
To us he was in the league of Mzala Nxumalo,Chris Hani , Bimba Mangqabashana, Mbuyi Ngwenda , and many other great intellectuals of our movement and indeed our society.
He was an intellectual par excellence!Because of his sharp intellectual mind we knew that before engaging with him on any issue we needed to be well prepared.
He was able to bring ideas into life.He could eloquently articulate his view point and subsequently make it the view of the collective. His passion for political and ideological matters inspired many of us to equally sharpen our understanding, so that we can make a meaningful contribution towards changing our society for the better.
Indeed Comrade Fieldmore represented the best among us!
The ANC will forever treasure his immense contribution to the struggle for our liberation.
In a lifetime dedicated to the achievement of South Africa`s liberation,Comrade Fildmore demonstrated fortitude in the face of adversity and responded selflessly to the sacrifices demanded of him and his family.
On behalf of the ANC PEC in the Eastern Cape and our people as a whole, I am privileged to discharge the heavy responsibility to extend heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Cde Fildmore Mapheto, to NUMSA and to all those who are his comrades. In the hope that this will help to lighten your burden of grief, I would like to assure you that we too mourn the untimely departure of Fildmore Mapheto,u Phopho.
May his soul rest in peace!
