Crowds Converging on Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium for launch of ANC 2016 Local Government Election Manifesto
The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth is abuzz with activity as throngs of supporters of the African National Congress (ANC) converge on the stadium ahead of the launch of the organization’s 2016 Local Government Election Manifesto.
Since dawn hundreds of people have been queueing outside the stadium where the ANC will unveil our people-centered blueprint towards the August municipal elections.
As early as last night scores of enthusiastic supporters dressed in the black, green and gold of the party faithful have been camping out outside the stadium gates in anticipation of today’s events, braving the formidable Port Elizabeth wind.
Buses and taxis have been arriving at the stadium carrying ANC supporters from the Nelson Mandela Bay and various other regions in the province.
The ANC anticipates that more than 100 000 supporters will fill the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium today as strong affirmation of the ANC’s extensive mobilization campaign ahead of the August elections.
ANC Pesident Comrade Jacob Zuma will officially launch the 2016 Local Government Election Manifesto at today’s event.
Proceedings are expected to kick off mid-morning.
