Remembering Collins “Animal” Chabane

Comrade Collins Ohm Chabane was born on the 15th April 1960 at the Xikundu Village, Limpopo Province. Chabane was the seventh of the 11 children of Elisabeth and Etienne Chabane. He and together with his two protectors, Sergeant Lesiba Sekele and Sergeant Lawrence Lentsoane, met their untimely death in a car accident on the 15th March 2015. Deputy President of the ANC, Comrade Cyril Ramaphosa, has described Comrade Collins as a freedom fighter, a musician, a leader and a servant of the people who embodied in so many ways the values on which we seek to build our nation.
